
Production Background
Fungi mushroom is the third valuable economic crop in the world behind
vegetables and fruits. In 2003, the total edible fungi production
(fresh) of Fujian Province was 1.97 million ton which worth USD 810
million, and the provincial export valued USD 450 million. The fungi
production of Fujian accounts for 45% to 50% of the total amount of
China (another half shared by 20 other provinces); it is 3 times larger
than the yield of EEA.

Manpower
There are more than 200 thousand practitioners in edible fungi industry
in Fujian Province, and over 1800 students graduated from local universities
or advanced diploma schools majored in fungi mushroom or related subjects
every year. You can even find PhD awarding institutes in the province.
With the most updating technologies on spawns optimizing, nurturing
and mass cultivating of Shiitake mushroom, Enokitake mushroom, and
button mushroom, Fujian has being the national fungi mushroom research,
cultivation, export center for tens years.

Logistic
Close business connections between Fujian and EU, North America
and other Asian countries have been established for years by sea
and air transport, which provide good logistic supplying conditions
to exporting fresh products or mushroom logs overseas.
